General Update

Well, as you can see, I haven't been the best about keeping up with this blog. I didn't write about Thanksgiving or Christmas, nor have I mentioned that the bubs just celebrated their 3rd birthday a few weeks ago. We enjoyed holiday festivities, though I admittedly didn't feel fantastic during that time and vow to not be morning sick for another Christmas. I captured very few pictures during the past few months as well. Aside from the fact that I am horrible about remembering to bring my camera places, let alone take pictures, the bubs rarely hold still long enough to get a decent shot, so most of my pictures are blurry images. As such, I was thrilled the other night when I remembered to snap the bubs in their new pajamas, and they actually cooperated! Here are some pictures of that photo shoot.

In other news, we're just hanging out at home most days this winter. The bubs and I are all sick right now, so that has meant many days of sitting around and watching PBS Kids. I have also attempted and currently put on hold, due to sickness and resistance, our efforts at potty training. Ugh! And UGH again! Today I broke down and ordered some books and such to hopefully help in the process. The bubs are just NOT interested right now, and I'm panicking because they are now 3 years old and I NEED them to be potty trained by the time the baby comes. So, wish me luck!

Cody continues to go to work each day and has been very happy of late with the purchase of a new computer. Our desktop crashed, and thankfully our tax return came through to replace it, so Cody has been like a kid in a candy store ordering parts and putting it all together.

Well, I suppose that's about all there is to say about our household at present. I'm looking forward to spring!

Nap Time

Nap time at our house can be a bit crazy. Maeryn is almost always ready to zonk out, while Afton likes to instigate mischief. Not that Maeryn doesn't take the bait, but when I shut the door I almost always hear Afton start talking, trying to get Maeryn to do this or that. It's pretty funny. I think if these two little bubs weren't twins, Afton would be done with naps and Maeryn would certainly not be. The two pictures included in the post show the bubs a couple weeks ago after church. Our church schedule is from 1-4, so the bubs miss their nap on Sunday. Here you see Maeryn seizing a late afternoon nap on the couch, while Afton is wide awake, and showing off her puzzle-building skills. :)

It's a Girl!

Last week Cody and I went in for the much-anticipated ultrasound. I was sure that I was having a boy, but was puzzled when time and time again I would ask the bubs, "Is Mommy having a girl baby or a boy baby?" Without fail, they would reply, "Girl baby!" It seems they have known all along, but Mommy and I think Daddy too, were a bit shocked when the technician said, "It's a Girl!" After the initial surprise I started laughing and told the technician that we say in our family that it's next to impossible for a Reynolds girl to have a boy (Out of 19 grandchildren, there are only 5 boys, and 2 of those 5 are from my older brother).

I am very excited to have another little girl! We have yet to decide on a name, but Cody continues to reassure me that we have plenty of time. :)

In the meantime, here's a little glimpse of what the bubs might be like with a baby sister at home. Afton is the one running around with the baby in the stroller and Maeryn's giving her baby a squeeze. Should be cute . . . and interesting. :)
